Problem
Kausal, a fast-growing SaaS company, wanted to modernize its infrastructure and move from traditional server hosting to Kubernetes. The challenge was not only technical but also strategic: how to design a scalable, reliable setup that would support future growth while avoiding unnecessary complexity. Kausal needed a clear, practical path forward — and a working foundation that their team could build on.
Team
NAICC assembled a three-person DevOps team with complementary expertise. One consultant brought experience from similar large-scale Kubernetes migrations, ensuring best practices and lessons learned were applied from the start. A DevOps engineer from a leading Unicorn company contributed hands-on skills and cutting-edge knowledge of operating Kubernetes at scale. To balance the mix, an entrepreneur with prior SaaS platform Kubernetes setup experience added a pragmatic, business-driven perspective. Together, this team combined deep technical skills with real-world operational insight.
Outcome
In just three days, the sprint team delivered a viable MVP of a Kubernetes-based setup tailored for Kausal’s SaaS platform. This provided Kausal with a concrete, working foundation for moving away from traditional hosting and embracing a modern, scalable infrastructure. Beyond the technical deliverable, the sprint also created a vast addition to the company’s understanding of Kubernetes itself — what it is, how it works, and how it can be harnessed for SaaS growth.
